Weekend in Cape Town

Aaron and I went to Cape Town this weekend for his cousins wedding.

We left the boys with my folks and I flew down to join Aaron on Friday, as he was already down there on business.

We booked into a B & B in Hout Bay which, although was not on the beach, had a stunning view over Hout Bay. The place was called The Dream House and it was great. Our room was big and roomy and we had a hammock on the balcony, which Aaron climbed straight into.


We went down to the pool for a glass of wine and to relax and ended up on the deck on oversized pillow, basking in the sun !

Friday night we went out for supper with my friend Collette and her husband George to an awesome place called Diaz Tavern. It looked a little skankie from the outside and had no frills or glamour on the inside but it was great ! The food was amazing and we just ordered platters of starters and sat around trying everything and chatting.

They had a live band, so Collette and I tested our youth again - never the less we realized that we were defiantely older than what we thought !



The following morning after breakfast on the patio at our B & B, we headed off to the Water Front. Aaron walked passed a cafe to discover that the Sharks were playing, so I hit the shops alone while he shouted for his team - they won so it was a good morning for all.

We went through to his cousins place in Ronderbosch to meet up with some of the family then headed back to the B & B to catch up on some sleep before the wedding.


The wedding was held at the Suikerbossie restuarant in Hout Bay, and although the wind blew gales, it was great (the hair style was NOT the intended one !). Most of Aaron's cousins were there, so the evening was spent catching up, chatting and dancing.

We booked out of the B & B on Sunday morning and headed off to his uncles place to say goodbye to everyone and then went off to the airport to catch our flights.

It was a rushed and busy weekend but it was great to be in Cape Town again and to have some quiet time together.

I miss Cape Town already and hopefully we will be back soon !
