I have always wanted a white Christmas and while in Florida we were listening to news reports of heavy snow fall and blizzards all over the USA that we were a little worried that we wouldnt even get out of Florida !
We arrived in Denver on the Wednesday and there was NO SNOW (cold enough but no snow)! It was a few days before Christmas so I was convinced that with all the news reports we would have a white Chirstmas - no such luck ! Christmas came and went and there was no snow.

One of the main things I want to see was the typical USA Christmas lights which Traci and Warren took us for a ride around the neighbourhood to see - it was amazing and exactly like it is on TV. Some were totally over the top but others were beautiful.
This didnt stop us - we went and found snow !
Traci and Warren spoilt us rotten, taking us all over and to the most amazing restuarants. We went to Garden of the Gods where we went for a walk through the most amazing rock formations. The boys ran a mock and it was great.
We also went to a frozen lake which was our first experience of walking on ice - it freaked me out completely as it felt totally unateral. There were lots of screams while we slippled and slid all over. Of course there had to be snow ball fights which were tricking trying to throw snow when standing on ice !

We also headed off to the Rockies as there was SO much snow there. We went tubing which was so much fun and we had a ball. On the way out we saw some kids sledding so we decided to join them. It wasnt the best experience for my boys as they see snow as soft and after wiping out a few times, they realised that you can get really hurt trying to ramp !
Aaron suggested we make snow angels which we ran off to do only to land up in the deepest part of the snow and not be able to get up. There was panic from the boys as they went deep and I battled to get them out. When they did get out they were frozen to the bone and their jeans had frozen on them.
Treaci and Warren had bought us an awesome Christmas present - a sleigh ride and dinner in a "mountain man" cabin. It was freezing cold but an absolutely awesome experience. We sat on the sled under blanket and had a real cowgirl drive us through woods etc. We arrived at a wooden cabin which was SO warm and this is where we had a cowboy supper of steak, corn and bread. The dessert was home made apple pie and was to die for.
While we ate a "mountain man" walked around telling stories of days gone by and just having fun with the kids giving them frights every now and again. The boys loved it as he had real knives and guns !
We went to lots of shops as well and I just had to go to a Walmart which was such fun - they had a few sales and when they have sales - they are real sales !
We were also treated to an awesome dinner at the Melting Pot which is a fondue restuarnt - an awesome concept. We went with some friends of Traci and Warrens and had such a fun evening. When we left there was a horse and carraige outside and although they were packing up to go, Traci managed to convince them to take us for a quick ride around the block. It was such fun - real big horses with furry feet and real cowboys !
From shopping, to eating (orange chicken, peanut butter chocolates, pizza and so much more), to playing in the snow and sight seeing we had such an awesome time.
The boys are still talking about it and I am sorry we couldnt spend more time with them.
