We have an Area cricket player !

Cams has been training really hard for cricket, going for private lessons and really giving it his all. 

He decided after the last cricket season that this was something he would like to take seriously and I said that if he put the effort and commitment in then I would take him for private lessons.

Soon after he started lessons he was invited to go to the region team trials but unfortunately missed it by 0,5 points.  He was very upset but I was rather impressed that he even went so far although he had just started training.

The training continued and he was invited in Aug to the area NSSS cricket trials.  Its one down on the region trials but he had to start somewhere so off we went.

He made the team much to his (and our) delight and has been biting at the bit to get started.  Their first match was this Saturday but was cancelled due to rain !  So the wait will continue.......

On Friday he received a letter inviting him to the schools Montrose tournament side trials.  Every year various schools in the area make a team from their best cricket players and partake in the Montrose night cricket series.

Its a huge event and Campbell desperatley wants to be in the team.  So trials are today and Thursday and I am hoping they announce it by Friday so we can be put out of our misery waiting !

He is loving his cricket at the moment and next year they will have the region trials again so we will hold thumbs...........
