Last year Campbell wanted to do it but wanted to play the guitar and sing but he had never ever picked up a guitar and after much negotiation and explaining that although he could do anything he put his mind to, he couldn't play a Jonas Brothers song in 1 week !
We agreed to start guitar lessons and start practicing for the next years festival.
Well it finally arrived and the boys had decided to do a Jonas Brothers song - Hudson playing the guitar and Campbell singing.
They were SO nervous and I sat on the side listening as they tried to convince each other why they should do this - they asked if they could back out and I said yes but they had to go to the teacher and take their names off the list - I wasn't going to do it.
They decided to go for it and did so well. Campbell had all the confidence in the world and walked up and down the stage singing to the best of his ability. Hudson strummed away but didn't look up once.
Half way through the audience joined in clapping to their song which gave them the extra boost they needed.
We haven't had the results yet and it really doesn't matter - the experience of going up an stage and performing taught them so much and they love it and are talking about next years already.
