Mom turns 70 !

On Friday 12 March mom turned 70 !  It was a fantastic and very busy weekend.

 Traci arrived from the USA on Wednesday - mom didn't know that she was coming and it was a hard secret to keep.  The rest of the sistas arrived Thursday night and we ordered pizza and chatted and caught up as we hadn't been together for over 5 years.

We had arranged a morning at Mangwanani Spa for the girls and Traci surprised mom at breakfast.  We spent the morning being pampered and relaxing and it really was great.

Friday night we had a family dinner at home.  Paul made an awesome lasagne and we organised a really nice birthday cake for mom.  It was a special evening of catching up and spending time together.

Saturday we left in the morning and headed out to the Rhino and Lion park  - we arrange a game vehicle to take us out on a 2 hour game drive and went and saw the wild dogs, cheetahs, white lion and even the brown lion.

The day was hot but we had taken snacks and drinks with which were enjoyed throughout the drive.  We got back quite late in the afternoon and while mom went and had her hair done, Tanya and I went through to the restuarant to ensure that everything was in order there. 

We all went to La Rustica for dinner and although some of the meals weren't up to standard, the evening was really special.  We gave mom a hand made quilt with our family photos on and messages from us.

Sunday we all went to church and then home for a snack lunch.  Tanya made a really special DVD for mom that we all watch and I can assure you that there were plenty of tears during and after the DVD !

We had bought mom tickets to the Cliff Richard concert and she was thrilled to be able to go to that.

Paul, Roz and the boys left to head back to Durbs and we lazed around for the rest of the afternoon and taught the aunts how to shoot pellet guns.  The folks went through to the concert that evening and really enjoyed themselves.

Happy birthday mom - thank you for everything you have done for us as a family - you are very special to all of us.
