Bryanston waving their flag

Wednesday was our last day of the term and with the world cup starting the next day, our last day was devoted to soccer and wishing Bafana Bafana good luck.

Everyone went in their soccer shorts along with the vuvazela and flags.  We had inter house soccer first and then everyone headed into the hall for assembly.

It was such an awesome  assembly -  they sang "waving our flag" and waved their flags and sung - really special.

We had blown up over helium 800 balloons and each child got one when they left the hall and headed out to the field.  Once everyone was there we had a count down and release all the balloons - it really was amazing to watch and made me feel very proud to be a South African.

The whole of JHB celebrated in the streets from 12h00 - 14h00 for Bafana and this was our little "good luck" wishes.

After school the boys and I drove around hooting and blowing our vuvazelas with everyone else in the streets.  The boys have the vuvazelas down but I still battle.

 Zoe was introduced to it and hates it - she barks and howls at it and shakes her head every time the boys blow it.

Friday we are going to St Stithians to watch the opening game between Mexico and SA on the big screens there and I think it is going to be very festive.

JHB is an awesome place to be at the moment.  The is such an atmosphere around and it is really so alive at the moment.

So, all the best Bafana - our blood is green.
