Hudson and Penryn House

On Wednesday evening we had a introductory meeting at Saints for all the new grade 8's for 2012.  They had to go in their school uniforms and were given a booklet with all the relevant info in, as well as which house they would be in the following year.

We collected Hudson's folder at the chapel door and went to take our seats - his house is Penryn which we both decided sounded decent enough and were flicking through the folder while we waited for the principal and what did we find !

Penryn's emblem is.....................wait for it......................... A SHARK !

Hudson nearly fell out the pew !  He is absolutely disgusted being the strong Bulls supporter he is, and now has to attend interhouse events with a shark firmly planted on his chest !

I couldn't stop laughing and had to sms Aaron immediately as he wasn't with us.  All Hudson could say was "Dad is going to have a great time with this", and spent the rest of the evening shaking his head.

Shame, he really is not impressed and I think the colour of the house is red and black - red for lions and black for sharks which he didn't find humorous at all.

I reminded him that his blazer would be dark blue which could pass as Blue Bulls, but he still is not impressed.

He met the house director and introduced himself and he also met his mentor for next year.  His real mentor is actually overseas at the moment so he has a "stand in" mentor - Luke Hutton, which he clicked with and when Luke mentioned to Hudson that he was in the waterpolo team, Hudson was even more impressed, so we may just adopt him as Hudson mentor.

He said to me after the evening that, all along, he has been nervous about going to Saints but after tonight he feels like he is already a Saints boy, and knows he is going to fit in and is looking forward to it.

So roll on Saints and Penryn House - sorry about the Shark babes, but you know your heart will always be a true Bull.
